Pekin, Illinois is famous for being the Marigold Capital of The World. Twisted Spoke Saloon is famous for having world class acts on their intimate stage. The biker-themed bar is friendly to not only bikers but also to lovers of music. Michael Sweet graced the small town of Pekin with his amazing vocal and musical talent. The bar has ample seating and a small stage with great lighting and sound.

Michael Sweet is better known as the vocalist and songwriter of the Christian rock band Stryper. They are at their heart a metal band while still being lumped into the hair band category in the 1980s. Their hair was amazing and Michael’s remains amazing still. His voice has gotten better over the years. He tours rigorously and is supporting his latest album, I’m Not Your Suicide. The album is arguably his best to date.

The evening began with solid local band The UnHandsome Devils who had an acoustic show. UnHandsome Devils are a cover band with a strong set that includes staples of rock music. Their vocalist, Mitch Bland, has an incredibly good power and range. He also did double duty by playing cajon and singing while their drummer was recovering from an accident.
